Here are my policies and visions: as a progressive candidate for Congress, I am committed to fighting for a fairer and more just society. I believe in Medicare-for-All, a living wage for all workers, and policies that combat climate change. My mission is to build a government that works for all Americans, not just the wealthy and well-connected.
MEDICARE - FOR - ALL
I believe that healthcare is a basic human right, and that no one should have to choose between paying for their medical bills and putting food on the table. That's why I am committed to fighting for Medicare-for-All. We need a healthcare system that works for all Americans, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

I care about Medicare-for-All because I know firsthand how difficult it can be for families to afford healthcare in this country. As a progressive candidate for Congress, I am committed to making sure that every American has access to quality, affordable healthcare. We need a system that prioritizes people over profits, and that's what I will fight for in Washington.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
As a progressive candidate for Congress in California, I am deeply committed to addressing the housing crisis that is affecting so many families in our state. We need to take bold action to ensure that every Californian has access to safe, affordable housing. It's time for us to invest in our communities and build a future where everyone has a place to call home.

I care about affordable housing in California because I know that the high cost of living is driving families out of our state and tearing communities apart. As your representative in Congress, I will fight for policies that make housing more affordable and accessible, including expanding affordable housing programs, protecting renters' rights, and increasing funding for affordable housing development. Together, we can build a better future for all Californians.
GREEN NEW DEAL
I'm running for Congress as a progressive because I believe that we need bold action to combat the urgent threat of climate change. That's why I care deeply about the Green New Deal, which offers a visionary plan for tackling this crisis while creating millions of good-paying jobs and investing in communities that have been left behind for too long.
I'm committed to fighting for a Green New Deal because I believe that we have a moral obligation to protect our planet for future generations and to build a more just and equitable society in the process. Together, we can make the Green New Deal a reality and create a better future for all.

IMMIGRATION REFORM
As an immigrant from Ethiopia and a progressive candidate for Congress, I know firsthand the struggles that come with navigating our current immigration system. That's why I care deeply about immigration reform. I want to fight for a fair and humane system that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals, and that creates a better future for all Americans, regardless of their background.
VOTING RIGHTS
As an Ethiopian-American and a progressive candidate for Congress, I understand firsthand the importance of democracy and freedom. Our democracy and freedom are under attack from Republicans more and more every day, and that's why I care deeply about voting rights. I want to fight for fair and accessible elections that empower all Americans to participate in our democracy, including our fellow citizens in U.S. territories like Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands who deserve the right to vote.
It's time to protect our democracy and ensure that every voice is heard, and that's why I strongly believe that we need to make voting day a national holiday. I'm committed to fighting for voting rights and will be a strong advocate for fair and accessible elections in Washington.

POLICE REFORM
As a progressive candidate for Congress, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve my community and fight for a better future. One of the most pressing issues facing our nation today is police reform.
That's why I am committed to ending qualified immunity, establishing an independent federal oversight commission, and reducing police officers' responsibilities.
I believe that every person deserves to feel safe and protected in their community, and we must work together to achieve that goal. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a voice for change and to fight for a fairer, more just society.
GUN REFORM
As a progressive candidate for Congress, I'm committed to fighting for common-sense gun reform that will keep our communities safe. I care deeply about this issue because I've seen firsthand the devastating impact of gun violence on families and communities. We can't continue to stand by and watch as senseless tragedies occur again and again. It's time for us to take action and implement policies like universal background checks, a ban on assault weapons, and red flag laws that will help prevent gun violence before it happens.

DISABILITY RIGHTS
As a progressive candidate for Congress and someone born with muscular dystrophy, I am committed to fighting for the rights of people with disabilities. I know firsthand the challenges that come with navigating a world that isn't always built with our needs in mind. That's why I believe it's crucial that we fight for accessibility, equality, and inclusion for all people with disabilities.

We need to strengthen the Americans with Disabilities Act, ensure that people with disabilities have access to affordable healthcare and long-term services and support, and promote employment opportunities that enable people with disabilities to fully participate in the workforce. STUDENT
LOAN FORGIVENESS
As a progressive candidate for Congress, I believe that education is a fundamental right, not a privilege reserved for the wealthy few. That's why I'm committed to fighting for student loan forgiveness for all Americans. Our current student loan system is broken, burdening millions of borrowers with unmanageable debt that prevents them from achieving their dreams and contributing fully to our economy. Student loan forgiveness is not only a moral imperative, but it's also an economic necessity.
It will stimulate the economy, free up money for families to invest in their futures, and create a more equitable society where everyone has a fair shot at success. I care deeply about this issue because I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue higher education without the crushing weight of debt holding them back.
